Minutes of July 7, 2007 BIMC Board Meeting
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Blakely Island Maintenance Commission was held on July 7, 2007 in the Weller’s hanger following the Annual meeting.

Meeting called to order at 12:45 PM.
Members introduced themselves to one another. John Madden spoke briefly about his suggestions for the new board’s accomplishments in the coming year. John strongly suggests that the board develop a “pass down” plan so that transitions from position to position, year to year can be accomplished more smoothly. BIMC “corporate history” is weak.
John also suggested which board members might be best in which position. After brief discussion Anne Malmo made a motion that the above positions be approved. Jane Loura seconded the motion. All members agreed.
Board meeting planning was discussed. The next meeting is scheduled for July 22, 2007 at 2:00 in the afternoon Dick Demers’ Blakely home. Anne is to discuss with Paul Malmo the use of his conference call and Web-X capability for future conference call meetings. As often as possible the board will meet in person.
Terry Pence, our assistant caretaker, will be losing his housing this fall. The board is concerned about filling his position should Terry decide to leave the island. Many options were discussed. Water accreditation for the water system, main water meter reading, mail distribution all need to be planned for. The list of Terry’s duties is long and varied.
